Family dispute | Child set himself on fire in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: A 15-year-old boy committed suicide in a house in Abu Hamam village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, by pouring petrol on himself and setting himself on fire, resulting in third-degree burns due to a dispute with his family.

On December 18, SOHR activists documented a new suicide case in SDF-held areas, as a woman committed suicide in Al-Qanayah village, west of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, by burning herself and two of her children, due to marital disputes.

The mother and her son died, while the daughter survived. The girl was taken to the hospital for treatment.

This comes in light of the increasing suicide rates throughout Syria, owing to the ongoing conflict in Syria and the dire living, psychological, economic, and social conditions and other reasons.
