Military escalation | Turkish artillery shells six villages in Tel Tamr and Abo Rasen

Al-Hasakah province: Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on Al-Mashirfa, Al-Asadiyah, Tel Al-Laban, Mahramla, Al-Asfawiya and AL-Kozlaih villages in Tel Tamr and Abo Rasen countryside north western of Al-Hasakah, amid displacement of civilians towards safer areas. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

This coincided with the ongoing alarming calm in areas in NE of Syria for 25 days, where the intensity of attacks and Turkish ground shelling reduced significantly in areas of Aleppo, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah countryside, except for some shells intermittently hitting the frontlines.

On December 16, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces and their proxies fired heavy artillery shells on positions within SDF-held areas in Al-Hasakah countryside, where the shells hit Al-Kozlaih, Tel Al-Laban and Tawela villages in Tel Tamr countryside northern of Al-Hasakah.
