Ongoing resentment in Daraa | Nightly protests demand release of detainees in middle countryside

Daraa province: Residents of Ibtaa’ town in Daraa countryside went out on nightly protests against the head of the Syrian regime, and raised banners that read “The free revolution of Ibtaa’ remains” and “Down goes the traitors. Down goes the regime”, where protestors wrote on walls of the town “The free people of Ibtaa’ demand the detainees.”

The public resentment and protests against the regime and its security services have been ongoing in several villages and towns of Daraa since December 21, in Jassim, Al-Sanmin, Da’il, Ghabaghib, Al-Na’ima and Al-Mazirib cities.

On December 26, residents of Jassim city and Al-Mazirib town in Daraa countryside, went out on peaceful protests this evening, to demand that Iranian militias be expelled from the Syrian south, the release of detainees and to overthrow the regime, amid chants against the regime and Iran.
