First assassination in Daraa in 2023 | Former member of opposition factions ki-lled in eastern Daraa countryside

Daraa province: A young man died of wounds he sustained after being shot dead by unidentified gunmen in front of his home days earlier, in Al-Ghariyah Al-Sharqiyyah in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

The Syrian Observatory activists documented the first incident of insecurity chaos in Daraa province in 2023.

It is worth noting that the dead man was a former member of the opposition factions and struck the settlement and reconciliation deal with the regime in 2018, and did not join any military formation.

This comes in light of the escalated attacks and assassination attempts in Daraa amid rampant security chaos in the province.
