Second victim in 48 hours | Civilian from Al-Hasakah countryside shot dead by Turkish Jandarma”

Al-Hasakah province: A civilian from Ras Al-Ain area, north of Al-Hasakah was shot dead by Turkish border guards “Jandarma,” while trying to enter Turkish territory, marking the second victim killed by Jandarma in 2023.

This comes in light of the deteriorating economic crisis in Syria that force many Syrians to seek safe haven in the European States.

Yesterday, a civilian from Al-Tabany town in western Deir Ezzor countryside was shot dead by Turkish Jandarma, while he was sneaking into Turkish territory with the help of members of the 20th Division of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah, near Ras Al-Ain town in Al-Hasakah countryside.

In 2022, SOHR documented 22 civilians, including three children and one woman, who had been killed by Turkish Border Guards (Jandarma) in several areas near and on Syria-Turkey border, while 26 other civilians were injured including three children.
