In anniversary of death of Soleimani | Explosions heard in Al-Omar oil field base of International Coalition

Deir Ezzor province: Loud explosions were heard in the vicinity of Al-Omar oil field in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, which is being used by the “International Coalition” forces as the largest military base in Syria, coinciding with flight of drones over the region, amid confliction reports whether the explosions were caused by extensive military exercises of the “International Coalition” or caused by Iranian militias as revenge for the death of Qasim Soleimani.

On January 1, SOHR activists reported that International Coalition forces conducted military exercises in Al-Omar oil field base, coinciding with flight of planes over the region.

“International Coalition” helicopters were flying at low altitude over the eastern area in Zaiban, Al-Shahil and Al-Basira in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, and the line along Euphrates River separating SDF-held areas and areas held by Iranian militias on the opposite side of Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor countryside, to monitor the area and movements.
