Rocket attack | Iranian-backed agents strike coalition’s base at Koniko gas field north of Deir ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) sources have reported that Iranian-backed cells and agents in SDF-controlled areas blame for the rocket attack that targeted Koniko gas field base of the International Coalition forces in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor this morning.

Meanwhile, “Coalition International” helicopters have flowed over the oil field in search of the attackers.

SOHR activists have reported several times that Iran has trained and recruited many members of their proxy cells in SDF-controlled areas to target “International coalition” forces.

This comes in light of the rampant security chaos and the escalated ISIS attacks in SDF-held areas.

On December 26, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that cells and agents working in SDF-controlled areas for Iranian-backed militias are responsible for the December 25 rocket fire which targeted the International Coalition’s base in Al-Shaddadi area in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah. According to SOHR sources, two missiles hit the perimeter of the base.

It is worth noting that Iran has recruited hundreds of individuals inside areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration in the east Euphrates region, tens of whom are serving in the ranks of Syria Democratic Forces.

While, on November 16, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that four missiles were fired from a military position of Iranian-backed militias near the industrial high school in Al-Mayadeen city, the “capital” of Iranian-backed militias in Deir Ezzor, targeting positions in the Coalition’s base in Al-Omar oil field.
