Attempted to sneak to Turkey | Turkish Jandarma brutally beat Syrians after crossing Syrian-Turkish border

Al-Hasakah province: Turkish border guards “Jandarma” severely beat Syrians using rifles, sticks and kicks, after crossing the Syrian-Turkish border in the early hours of Tuesday morning via “smuggling” routes at A’radah village in the northern countryside of Abu Rasin.

The Syrians were transferred to Al-Darbasiyah clinic for treatment.

The border between Syria and Turkey in SDF-controlled areas has seen an active movement of “smuggling” operations over the past three days due to the foggy weather, prompting smugglers and civilians to seize opportunities to cross into Turkey and then reach a European country in search of a better life.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, more than 600 people have crossed into Turkey in SDF-held areas over the past three days.

The “Peace Spring” areas also saw a similar movement of smuggling towards Turkey, taking advantage of the foggy weather.

This comes as the deteriorating economic crisis in Syria forces Syrians to seek safe haven in European States.

Yesterday, a young man from Shahrnaz village in the western Hama countryside was shot dead by Turkish border guards “Jandarma” while trying to cross the border to enter Turkish territory via “smuggling” routes near A’zmarin town, north of Idlib.
