Aleppo | Syrian interim government announces reopening “Awn Al-Dadat” crossing with Manbij Military Council

The Syrian Interim Government issued a statement announcing the reopening of Awn Al-Dadat crossing, which separates Jarabulus, which is under the control of the Turkish-backed factions, and Manbij, which is under the control of the Manbij Military Council in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, starting next February, after it had been closed for more than a year.

According to the statement, the decision is aimed to combat smugglers.

The Syrian Interim Government stated that, “During the coming period, Awn Al-Dadat crossing will be approved and opened exclusively for civilian movement.”

Registration begins for entry through the mentioned crossing, starting from the date of issuance of the statement through the authorized authorities in the Military Police Department, and the crossing movement will officially start early next February.

On January 2, the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij and its countryside announced that it had opened the door of conciliation between Awn al-Dadat crossing and Al-Tabqa crossing to facilitate the passage of citizens between regime-held areas and other areas, as the crossing will be open for one day of each week.

It is worth noting that the factions reopened awn Al-Dadat crossing in July 2021, after being closed for a full year.

The Turkish-backed factions had closed Awn Al-Dadat crossing since October 19, 2020.
