New m*urder in regime-held areas | Retired teacher shot dead by gunmen in Al-Suwaydaa countryside

Al-Suwaydaa province: A resident of Khirbet Sa’ad village, east of Shaqa district, was shot dead by gunmen in his home in the north-eastern countryside of Al-Suwaydaa.

Gunmen broke into the civilian’s home early and opened fire on him with automatic rifles, severely injuring him, and he soon died after being treated at the hospital.

The gunmen fled after the crime was committed to an unknown destination.

It is worth noting that the dead person is a retired teacher.

Since early 2023, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) documented eight murder crimes that left nine civilians dead: two women and seven men and young men.

The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

• Al-Suwaydaa: Three men.

• Rif Dimashq: One man and one young man.

• Homs: One woman

• Hama: One man.

• Daraa: One man.

• Damascus: One woman.
