Violations in Afrin | Turkish-backed National Army factions fell nearly 800 olive trees

Aleppo province: Turkish-backed factions continue felling olive trees in Afrin city, and keep terminating the forests and civilians’ properties in Afrin, to sell them as heating logs for financial benefits.

On the same context, “National Army” factions felled nearly 800 olive trees in Emara village in Maabatly and Maarata districts in Afrin countryside and Hayama village in Bulbul district in Afrin countryside north western of Aleppo with electric saws under the eyes of Turkish forces. The trees belong to 18 civilians from Afrin.

Moreover, members of “Al-Sultan Murad” faction sold a house in Afrin Al-Qadima neighbourhood for 1,500 USDs, and the house belongs to a civilian from Al-Zahraa town in northern Aleppo countryside, while an armed member of the “National Army” from Al-Ghouta Al-Sharqiyah sold two houses in Afrin city for 2,000 USDs, where the houses belong to a civilian from Qarzihal village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside.

In light of the violations committed by the “National Army” faction, “Al-Hamza Division” imposed royalties on every house in Kokana Fokany village in Afrin countryside, and threatened to imprison them for dealing with the former Autonomous Administration if the ransoms were not paid, under the pretext of protecting the civilians from thieves.
