Water cutoff continue in Aleppo since 2 weeks

The water cutoff continue in Aleppo since 2 weeks, after it came back for 10 days only, due to the failure of Zezon station in the northern western countryside of Hama, which witnessed clashes and bombardment, what forced the civilians to rely on the ground water and non-healthy water. Zezon station supplies al-Zerba station in the southern western countryside of Aleppo which supplies the water pumping stations in Suleiman al-Halabi neighborhood in Aleppo city.

 

 

SOHR received a copy of a message sent by the director of management service in the water plant of Sulayman al- Halbi, who is a leading figure in Jabahat al- Nusra, Abo Hafs Allibi to the Red Crescent Organization, “to the Red Crescent Organization, we have no problems to run water pumps and we promise to pump water according to the following conditions:

 

  • To supply enough diesel to run the two water plants of Sulayman al- Halabi and Bab al- Nayrab for 24 hours every day that ensures supplying water for all the neighborhood of Aleppo.
  • To supply the power plant of al- Zerbi with high electric tension from Hama line with at least 35 megawatt and not cut off the tension from al- Zerbi power plant as long as there is no fault on Hama line.
  • When the line of Aleppo- al- Zerbi is being fixed or the high electric tension are reaching from the power plant supplying electricity is going to be under new agreement.

It is worth mentioning that the population in the regime- held neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo is triple the population in the opposition- held areas in the city because the wide displacement by the citizens who live in the opposition- held areas due to the intense bombardment by the explosive barrels on the city of Aleppo.
