Exploiting popular anger | H-T-S wages new attack on regime positions west of Aleppo

Members of “Omar Ibn Al-Khattab” brigade of “Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham” have waged an attack on the positions of the regime forces on Urm Al-Kubra frontline in the western countryside of Aleppo.

Violent clashes have erupted between HTS members and regime troops, amid an exchange of artillery and rocket fire in villages and towns in northern Syria.

Meanwhile, regime forces stationed in the vicinity fired heavy artillery shells around villages and towns of Taqad and Al-Habatah and Behafis in the western countryside of Aleppo in “Putin-Erdogan” area.

HTS has escalated anti-regime attacks since the talk of rapprochement between the Turkish and Syrian regimes, as HTS aims to attract and win public opinion in northern Syria that rejects Turkish rapprochement with the regime.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the jihadist “Ansar Al-Tawhid” faction, waged a suicide operation, targeting the positions of the regime forces, on the Maarat Mozhas frontlines south of Idlib, SOHR activists reported.

Violent clashes occurred between the jihadists and regime forces amid confirmed information of deaths and injuries, amid intensive shelling.

Following the operation, regime forces began an intensive and violent bombardment, targeting towns and villages in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern Idlib countryside.

Ansar Al-Tawhid faction also fired rockets at the positions of the regime forces.

This comes as jihadist groups continue their escalated attacks that targeted regime forces and their proxy militias in “Putin-Erdogan” area.

 

Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) and the factions operating under its banner in Putin-Erdogan area continue to escalate their attacks, targeting regime forces and their proxy militias.

 

Since January 2023, HTS has intensified its attacks, targeting the positions of the regime forces on several frontlines in northern Latakia, western Aleppo, and Idlib.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) documented the death of 17 personnel of regime forces, including an officer, and the injuring of six others, and the killing of five members of Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham and a French jihadist, and the injuring of four others during eight operations, attacks, suicide operations, sniper attacks, clashes.
