Child abandonment | Newborn baby found dumped in Al-Sheikh Ali’s shrine in Tartous, marking first case of abandoned babies in regime-held areas

Tartous province: Newborn baby abandoned by his family for unknown reasons found dumped inside the shrine of Al-Sheikh Ali Al-Bahri in Tartous. The baby was taken to a hospital for treatment.

This comes in light of the increasing child abandonment cases due to illegal relationships and dire economic and living conditions

It is worth noting that this is the first case of abandoned babies in regime-held areas since the beginning of 2023.
