Illegal logging | National Army factions continue to fell olive trees serving as livelihood of civilians in Afrin city north of Aleppo

Aleppo province: Members of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah faction cut down nearly 70 olive trees in Atmana village in Raju district of Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo. The militiamen transported the stolen trees to Afrin markets to be sold as fire logs for heating.

Moreover, members of “Al-Sham Corps” faction cut down nearly 110 olive trees, owned by residents from the village, in Maidanke village in Sharan district of Afrin countryside.

On January 24, SOHR activists reported that members of Al-Sham legion robbed the house of a civilian from Kabashin village in Shirawa district, where they stole electric devices and several olive oil cans.

On the other hand, members of Al-Hamza Division felled nearly 650 olive trees from Juwaik village in Afrin countryside and Qarzihal and Ain Dara in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside. The trees belong to two civilians from the villages to sell them as heating logs.

In the same context, gunmen of Jaish Al-Sharqiyah faction felled nearly 100 olive trees near the road of Haj Khalil village in Rajo district in Afrin countryside. The trees belong to three civilians from Rajo district.
