Ongoing crackdown | New seven ISIS members arrested by SDF in “Revenge for Al-Raqqah’s deaths” campaign
Today, the SDF arrested seven ISIS members. Accordingly, the number of ISIS detainees and suspects has risen to 100 since the launch of the “Revenge for Al-Raqqah’s deaths” campaign launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) with the support of the International Coalition, in the cities of Al-Raqqah, Al-Karamah, Sarin and Al-Mansoura.
During the campaign, SDF confiscated weapons, ammunition, and documents.
According to the sources, the forces involved in the campaign began today with combing operations in Al-Raqqah, and large parts of Al-Diriyah neighbourhood.
Yesterday, security units of the Internal Security Forces “Al-Asayesh”, with the participation of SDF’s operation room, launched a security campaign under the name of “Revenge for Martyrs of Al-Raqqa” against ISIS cells in Sarin area in southern Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) countryside eastern of Aleppo, and arrested nearly 25 ISIS members with a number of weapons and ammunition in their possessions, and they were taken to security centres of SDF.
Earlier yesterday, The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested ISIS’s “Wali of Al-Raqqah” during yesterday’s raid campaign after the launch of the “Revenge for the deathes of Al-Raqqah” campaign by SDF and “International Coalition” to pursue “ISIS” cells.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), backed by the International Coalition, continued the campaign of “revenge for the deaths of Al-Raqqah” for the second day in a row.
SDF carried out combing operations in Al-Karamah town in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah and Al-Mansourah in western Al-Raqqah countryside, and Sarin town in Ain Al-Arab (Kobani), east of Aleppo.
During these operations, SDF, Coalition, and Asayish forces managed to arrest eight ISIS members.
According to SOHR sources, two ISIS members tried to escape outside SDF-held areas on the other bank of the Euphrates river after firing on SDF members, without hitting them.
On January 25, SDF arrested 60 ISIS members, hours after announcing the launch of “Revenge for Martyrs of Al-Raqqah” operation, with information about communication of ISIS members in Al-Rasafa desert southern of Al-Raqqa, which is controlled by regime forces and Iranian militias, while the combing and storming operation took place in villages and towns in eastern Al-Raqqa countryside such as Al-Karama, Al-Hamrat and Al-Jodaidat.
