Corruption | Bread bakeries committee closes bakery in Abu Khashab town in northern Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: The bread bakery of Abu Khashab town, north of Deir Ezzor, was closed by the Bread Bakeries committee of Autonomous Administration for a month due to poor bread and manipulation of the weight of the bread “tie” by the owner of the bread bakery, despite receiving the imported flour.

On January 22, dozens of residents of Al-Harijiyah village, north of Deir Ezzor, gathered in angry demonstrations amid blocking public roads with burning rubber tyres, in protest against bread rations being reduced as bread ration is one loaf per person per day, and does not meet civilian’s daily needs.

This comes due to the deteriorating living conditions in SDF-held areas, and the failure to enact laws on bread rations to be commensurate with the daily needs of the family.

It is worth noting that SDF-controlled areas have experienced a state of public anger and discontent in light of the dire living conditions, poor services and deteriorating security situation which have spurred the residents to stage frequent protests.
