Assassination attempt | Collaborator with Military Intelligence Branch injured in western Daraa countryside

Daraa province: A civilian working for the Military Intelligence Branch was injured after being shot by unidentified gunmen in Tafas town in the western countryside of Daraa.

It is worth noting that the man was a former fighter of local factions, and then he struck a settlement deal and reconciliation with the regime in 2018.

This comes in light of the rampant security chaos in Daraa province, amid the failure of local authorities to control security chaos.

Since early 2023, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 40, which left 29 people dead; and they are as follows:

• Eight civilians, including two women.

• 14 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.

• One former fighter who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

• Four ISIS members.

• Two ex-combatants with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.
