After mediation by “Rejal Al-Karamah” movement | Security services release seven members of local factions in Al-Suwaidaa

Al-Suwaidaa province: SOHR sources have reported that regime security services have released seven members of local armed groups, after “Rejal Al-Karamah” movement was authorised to negotiate with regime security services for their release. It is worth noting that those seven members were arrested seven months ago with an eighth member who died under torture in prison. According to SOHR sources, those members, who had joined the Syrian party of “Al-Liwaa” which is affiliated to the counter-terrorism forces because of their dire living conditions, were arrested following an attack on the house of “Samer Al-Hakeem” over his strong relations with the military intelligence service and other security services in Khazmah village in the southern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that “Rejal Al-Karamah” movement began negotiations with the regime security services to release eight detainees from Al-Suwaydaa, who had been arrested by regime security services following the attack on Khazimah village, south of Al-Suwaydaa, last year.

According to SOHR sources, the families of the detainees headed to the hospitality venue of the leader of “Rejal Al-Karamah” movement, Sheikh Abu Hassan Yahya Al-Hajjar, a week ago, and asked him to intervene to release their children, more than seven months after their arrest, and not to bring them to justice, or to include them in the recent amnesty decree.

Last June, Military Intelligence attacked the Counter-Terrorism Force faction of the Syrian Brigade Party in Khazmeh village, south of Al-Suwaydaa, arresteing eight members.

The force commander, Samer Al-Hakim, was killed in the attack, and the rest of the group surrendered to the security services.

The people of Al-Suwaydaa had called on the armed factions to intervene, but there was not any positive result.

The residents had released a statement announcing their disavowal of the Syrian Brigade Party, which they said had abandoned their children after being deceived by monthly salaries, taking advantage of harsh living conditions.
