“We would rather di*e than reconcile Al-Assad’s regime” | Residents stage demonstration in Azaz city

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported seeing hundreds of residents from Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo participating in a demonstration under the slogan “we would rather die than reconcile Al-Assad’s regime.” The demonstrators called for holding the regime accountable for the crimes it committed against Syrians, stressing their rejection of any reconciliations with Al-Assad’s regime, explaining that such reconciliations would lead to displacement and death of more Syrian people.

This comes as a part of public rejection of rapprochement between Ankara and Damascus.

On January 20, SOHR sources reported that protests took place in Al-Ibzimu town in Al-Atareb countryside in the west of Aleppo province, where protestors expressed their rejection of expected reconciliations with the Syrian regime, lifting placards with slogans written on them, which read “reconciliations with Syrian regime are a betrayal of Allah, the Profit, the faithful and the blood of martyrs of the Syrian Revolution.”
