Via Al-Bokamal crossing | Over 70 buses with Iraqi and Syrian license plates cross into Syria from Iraq in 48 hours

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported seeing over 70 grand buses with Iraqi and Syrian license plates crossing into Syria from Iraq in 48 hours. It is not known if the buses, which crossed through Al-Bokamal crossing in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, were carrying Shiaa visitors or Iranian-backed militiamen. According to SOHR sources, the buses headed to Al-Mayadeen city, the Iranians’ “autonomous capital” in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, before they took Deir Ezzor-Damascus highway.

It is worth noting that Al-Bokamal crossing was subjected to drone attacks on the 29th and 30th of January, where the strikes hit weapons cargoes belonging to Iranian-backed militias and killed 11 non-Syrian militiamen, including a commander.
