Turkish Border Guards forces “Jandarma” committed violations against the civilians, especially those seeking safe haven after the deterioration of commercial and security conditions in Syria, where bullets of the Jandarma still claim the lives of more Syrians in different areas of Syria.

Accordingly, SOHR activists have documented the death of six civilians by the Turkish Border Guards “Jandarma” and the injury of two women.

The details are summarized as follows:
• On January 3: A civilian from Al-Tabany town in western Deir Ezzor countryside was shot dead by Turkish Jandarma, while he was sneaking into Turkish territory with the help of members of the 20th Division of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah, near Ras Al-Ain town in Al-Hasakah countryside.

• On January 3: A civilian from Ras Al-Ain area, north of Al-Hasakah was shot dead by Turkish border guards “Jandarma,” while trying to enter Turkish territory, marking the second victim killed by Jandarma in 2023.

• On January 9: A young man from Shahrnaz village in the western Hama countryside was shot dead by Turkish border guards “Jandarma” while trying to cross the border to enter Turkish territory via “smuggling” routes near A’zmarin town, north of Idlib.

• On January 28: A young man in his 30s from Bokros Tahtani town eastern of Deir Ezzor, was shot dead by the Turkish border guards “Jandarma”, while he was heading towards Turkish territory from the side of Ras Al-Ain city northern of Al-Raqqa.
