Having tampering with quality of bread and flour allocations | “Bread Bakeries Committee” fines bakery in Deir Ezzor countryside
Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that the “Bread Bakeries Committee” of the Autonomous Administration imposed a fine of two million Syrian liras on a bread bakery in Ruwayshed town in north-western Deir Ezzor, because of poor hygiene, poor quality of bread, using unclean water and producing an amount of bread consuming flour less than the allocated amount provided by the authorities, where the bread bakery’s owner sells the remaining amount on black markets.
On February 2, SOHR sources reported that the “directorate of bread bakeries” of the Autonomous Administration has fined four bread bakeries in Al-Kesrah district and Hemar Al-Ali town in western Deir Ezzor over tampering with the weight of bread packs by the bakeries’ owners, as well as the poor quality of bread, although first-class flour (imported flour) is available at those bread bakeries.
According to SOHR sources, the authorities imposed different fines on those bakeries, where a fine of 6,000,000 SYP was imposed on the first bread bakery, and a fine of 5,000,000 SYP was imposed on the second bread bakery, while the third and fourth bakeries were fined by 600,000 SYP each.
