Afrin | Military police arr*est woman and Turkish intell*igence releases civilian after having paid fine

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported that members of a military police patrol arrested a woman from Aleppo city, a few days ago, while she was attempting to cross into Turkish territory, with the help of smugglers. The woman was taken to Ma’ratah prison in Afrin countryside.

On the other hand, Turkish intelligence released a civilian from Sheikhotka village in Ma’batli district in Afrin countryside in northern Aleppo, a few days ago, after having paid a fine of 1,000 USD. The man had been arrested on January 19 for “not cooperating with the factions and cover up properties belonging to Afrin residents who have been forced to displace to the northern countryside of Aleppo.

This comes as a part of the systematic policy adopted by Turkish forces and their proxy factions to force the remaining indigenous inhabitants to leave Afrin canton.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah faction kidnapped a civilian from Khalitan village in Jinderes district in Afrin countryside north western of Aleppo a few days earlier, stole his car, stole 1,500 USDs in his possession and took to A’zaz city in northern Aleppo countryside, while his fate remains unknown.
