Armed att*ack | Regime soldier ki*lled at checkpoint of general intell*igence department in eastern Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR sources have reported that a regime soldier died of the wounds he had sustained in an earlier attack by unknown gunmen on a checkpoint of the general intelligence department below Um Al-Mayazen bridge in east Daraa countryside.

It is worth noting that the dead soldier was from I’wah village on M4 highway in northern Al-Raqqah, and he had been arrested at Al-Sabkhah checkpoint in eastern Al-Raqqah for his bad behaviour nearly a month ago when he was driven to mandatory military service.

Since early 2023, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 51, which left 40 people dead; and they are as follows:

  • Eight civilians, including two women.

  • 22 regime military personnel and “collaborators” with security services.

  • Two former fighters who did not join any military formation, after having struck reconciliation deals.

  • Four ISIS members.

  • Two ex-fighters with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

  • Two members, including a commander, working for the Lebanese Hezbollah.
