Earlier armed att*ack | Civilian di*es of his wounds in rural Latakia

Latakia province: SOHR sources have reported that a man in his fifties from Al-Shamiyah village in the northern countryside of Latakia died of the wounds he had sustained in an armed attack, where he received a headshot yesterday fired by unknown gunmen travelling in a car in the village. Meanwhile, investigations are underway in order to disclose the circumstances of the attack and the identity of the attackers.

It is worth noting that the security situation is deteriorating in regime-controlled areas in light of alarming proliferation of arms, amid regime security services’ failure to put an end to the escalating security chaos.

The Syrian Observatory has documented 24 murders in regime-controlled areas since early 2023, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while motivations behind the others remained unknown.
