Humanitarian assistance | New UN aid convoy arrives disaster-stricken areas in NW Syria, via Bab Al-Hawa crossing

Idlib province: SOHR sources have reported that a new UN aid convoy has arrived in north-west Syria, via Bab Al-Hawa crossing on the Syria-Turkey border. This comes a week after the devastating earthquake which hit areas controlled by the “Salvation Government” and the “Syrian Interim Government” in north-west Syria and other areas controlled by the Syrian regime.

The recently-arrived convoy comprised ten trucks carrying tents and food for helping people affected by the earthquake, especially since thousands of people have been staying in the open after their houses collapsed.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a Saudi humanitarian aid convoy entered disaster-stricken areas in north-west Syria, after having crossed Al-Hamam crossing near Jendires town in Afrin countryside in northern Aleppo. The convoy was escorted by specialised team for detecting survivors stranded under the rubble of buildings which collapsed due to the devastating earthquake which hit the region on February 6.
