Security chaos | Former member of “Al-Asayesh” shot dead in Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: A former member of Al-Asayesh from Al-Qamishly city was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on February 13, where his body was found on a road near Al-Qamishly city in Al-Hasakah countryside. However, the identity of the perpetrators and their motivations have not been identified yet.

This comes in light of the escalation of the crime rate in different areas of Syria.

The Syrian Observatory has documented ten murder crimes in SDF-controlled areas since early 2023, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while motivations behind the others remained unknown. These murders left 12 civilian fatalities, including two women and a little girl; they are distributed regionally as follows:

• Al-Hasakah: Two men.

• Deir Ezzor: Seven civilians, including a woman.

• Al-Raqqah: Two civilians: a woman and a little girl.

• Manbij: A young man.
