With UAE and Iraq topping the list | Different countries around the world continue sending humanitarian assistance to Syria

For days, large amounts of humanitarian assistance have been sent, by land and by air, from 23 Arab and foreign countries to regime-controlled areas. This assistance has been directed to Syrians in areas controlled by the “Salvation Government” and the “Syrian Interim Government” and other areas controlled by the Syrian regime, mainly in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia and Tartus, who have been affected by the devastating earthquake which hit the region on February 6.

According to SOHR statistics, 147 planes: 142 Arab and foreign ones and five planes of “Cham Wings,” have arrived in airports in regime-controlled areas since the earthquake hit the region; they are distributed as follows:

  • 59 planes landed in Damascus international airport.

  • 47 planes landed in Aleppo international airport.

  • 41 planes landed in Latakia international airport.

Moreover, hundreds of trucks carrying humanitarian assistance provided by Arab countries, donors and local organisations, have arrived in Syria.

With the largest amount of humanitarian assistant delivered by a single countryside to Syria by land, Iraq has topped the list, while UAE has sent the largest amount of humanitarian assistant to Syria by air.

Meanwhile, SOHR activists have reported seeing a large Iraqi humanitarian aid convoy taking Tartus-Latakia highway to Jableh city which has been affected the most by the earthquake in latakia province.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported seeing an Iraqi humanitarian aid convoy of 70 vehicles crossing through Al-Bokamal crossing in Deir Ezzor province, in areas controlled by the Syrian regime. The convoy included ambulances and trucks carrying relief supplies, food and fuel.

In the same context, another Iraqi convoy, which comprised trucks carrying relief and medical supplies, food, mobile bread bakery and field clinic with qualified medical staffs, arrived in Latakia province.
