Iranian capital in Syria | Syrian Red Crescent distributes humanitarian aids on merchants and doctors

Deir Ezzor province: The Syrian Red Crescent distributed humanitarian aids and relief materials on residents of Al-Mayadin city “the capital of Iranian militias eastern of Syria.”

The aids comprise rice, chickpeas, sugar and oil, provided by Iran and from regime-held areas.

According to reliable SOHR sources, those responsible for distributing aids registered nearly 500 names, mostly belonging to merchants, doctors and pharmacists, while the names of widows and those deserving were deleted from the list.

SOHR sources reported that the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (IPMF) distributed humanitarian assistance to residents of Deir Ezzor city for the past two days under the slogan “for the soul of Qassem Soleimani.” This assistance included used cloths, food and sums of money of 50,000 SYP each, were every civilian was only given cloths, food or money.

According to SOHR sources, four pickup trucks with Iranian car number plates parked in front of the real estate bank in Deir Ezzor city, where residents gathered in long queues in order to get assistance.

Meanwhile, SOHR sources reported that the 4th Division attempted to take over a share of that humanitarian assistance to be distributed to the Division’s members, but the IPMF refused to do so.

This came as a part of attempts by Iranian-backed militias to gain populist support and entrench their presence in Syria, exploiting the dire living conditions of Syrians.
