After luring him | A gang kid-naps doctor in Homs and demands huge ransoms from his family

Homs province: Members of a gang kidnapped a doctor in Homs city after luring him yesterday, where the doctor is an internist working in Al-Razy hospital in Homs city.

According to reliable SOHR sources, members of the gang lured the doctor after they called him at late time on Monday and asked him to head to one of the areas to treat an emergency case, where the family lost contact with the doctor and his car was found parked at the side of a street in the city, hours after he left.

The kidnappers demanded 200,000,000 Syrian Liras from the doctor’s family to release him.

Regime-held areas witness a case of security chaos, and kidnaps to collect ransoms, in light of the failure of General Security Services to stop these acts.

On March 1, a kidnap gang released “Ahmad Al-Sabsaby” the brother of the chief of “Al-Ba’ath Party” division in Talbisah city in the northern countryside of Homs.

According to SOHR sources, the gang released the man after receiving 25 million SYP and after mediation by notables of Talbisah city, who intervened for releasing him.

In spite of the close relationship between the brother of the kidnapped and the ruling “Al-Ba’ath Party”, he preferred to negotiate with the kidnapping gang over resorting to the regime’s security services who did nothing to set his brother free.

It is likely that the gangs that kidnap people for ransoms are working in coordination with the security stations, especially military intelligence brunch which is responsible for Talbisah city sector, where security stations take larg shares of the ransoms.
