Old ordnance | Child ki*lled and another injured in northern Manbij

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported that a child was killed and another sustained various injuries due to the explosion of an old landmine in Al-Lajat village in the northern countryside of Manbij in areas controlled by the SDF-backed “Manbij Military Council.”

 

It is worth noting that the village is located on the frontlines between areas controlled by the “National Army” and SDF-held areas.

 

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 63 civilians, including two women and 20 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, over 126 civilians, including 32 children and four women, sustained various injuries.

 

The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib: Three fatalities; including a child, and five injured civilians, including three children.

 

  • Regime-controlled areas: 56 fatalities, including 15 children and three women, and 105 injured civilians, including 18 children and three women. There are 30 truffle pickers died, including a child and a woman, and 73 others injured.

 

  • “Euphrates Shield” area in east Aleppo countryside: One fatality, a child, and six injured people: a woman and five children.

 

  • SDF-held areas: Three fatalities; three children, and eight injured civilians, including four children. There is a little truffle picker among the injured people.

 

  • “Peace Spring” area in north Al-Raqqah countryside: Two injured civilians, two children.
