To release civilian | Kidnappers demand 25,000 USDs in western Daraa countryside

Daraa province: Members of an armed gang in a car kidnapped a civilian yesterday, in front of his house in Tasil town in western Daraa countryside. The kidnapped civilian works in the Supply Directorate in Daraa city, where he is the manager of the Customer Protection Department.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the kidnappers sent a video tape to the family of the civilian, showing the kidnapped civilian with signs of torture, to pressure his family to pay 25,000 USDs to release him.

This comes in light of the ongoing security chaos in Daraa and regime-held areas.

On March 3, a kidnapping gang released a young man working as a taxi driver and hails from Tafs city in the western Daraa countryside, five days after kidnapping him, after his family paid 5,000 USDs as ransom.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the gang initially demanded 50,000 USDs before decreasing the demand to 15,000 USDs. However, the kidnappers were given 5,000 USDs.
