Amid high alertness and growing tension | “Ahrar Al-Sham” expels members of the committee of Ministry of Defence of “Interim Government” from Al-Hamran crossing

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported that members of “Ahrar Al-Sham” and “Al-Shahbaa Gathering” have expelled the members of the committee formed by the Ministry of Defence of the “Syrian Interim Government,” headed by Abdulrahman Mustafa, from Al-Hamran crossing near Jarabulus city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, along with beating some members of the committee.

Meanwhile, “Ahrar Al-Sham” brought in military reinforcement to Al-Bab and Jarabulus cities in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, while the faction’s members have been put on high alert to be ready for any possible attack by Turkish-backed factions.

On March 7, SOHR sources reported that “Ahrar Al-Sham” faction, which belongs to the Turkish-backed “National Army”, handed over Al-Hamran crossing in Jarablus city in northern Aleppo countryside to the Ministry of Defence of the “Syrian Interim Government” under Turkish pressure, after the formation of a committee responsible for managing the crossing.

This came after threats by the Ministry of Defence of the Syrian Interim Govenrment to Ahrar Al-Sham faction to hand over Al-Hamran crossing in Jarablus countryside northern of Aleppo, especially after the faction was accused of stealing fuels and humanitarian aids.

The committee consisted of the assistant Minister of Defence for Financial Affairs “Adnan Al-Diyab”, “Khaled Al-Asa’ad” who is an administrator of the Military Police and his deputy “Jalal Al-Rasheed”, where the committee is responsible for managing the crossing and checkpoints controlled by “National Army” factions.

According to terms of the agreement, a percentage of revenue from Al-Hamran crossing would go to “Ahrar Al-Sham” faction.

It is worth noting that Al-Hamran crossing is adjacent to the frontlines with Manbij Military Council, which belongs to formations of SDF.
