For not paying “Zakat” | IS-IS cells att-ack owner of pharmacy in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Gunmen believed to belong to ISIS attacked the owner of a pharmacy with a hand grenade at Kawo’ Al-Raghib junction in Al-Hawayj village eastern of Deir Ezzor, for “refusing to pay the imposed Zakat.”

SOHR has documented 33 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 27 persons dead: five civilians, 21 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration and one unidentified man. These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

• Al-Raqqah: Seven attacks left three combatants dead.

• Deir Ezzor: 22 attacks left five civilians, an unidentified man and 11 combatants dead.

• Aleppo: Two attacks left six combatants, including commanders, dead.

• Al-Hasakah: Two attacks left a combatant dead and others injured.
