SOHR: 3 Killed In Israeli Bombing Of Syria

Three people, including an officer with the rank of major, were killed yesterday as a result of shelling launched by Israel on several locations in central and western Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The observatory said, “The Israeli bombardment targeted a weapons depot in a mountainous area overlapping the governorates of Tartous (west) and Hama (central), and sites belonging to the National Defense Forces.”

For its part, the Syrian news agency SANA quoted a military source as saying that the Syrian air defenses intercepted the Israeli missiles and shot down some of them.

These strikes are the second in a week on Syria, after the bombing of Aleppo International Airport, last Tuesday, which put this vital facility out of service for days after it was a main destination for aid planes arriving in Syria since the devastating earthquake.
