Idlib countryside | Turkish “Jandarma” kill civilian while ploughing his land

Idlib province: A 66 years-old civilian from Khirbat Al-Joz western of Idlib died of wounds he sustained when he was shot yesterday by members of the Turkish Border Guards “Jandarma”, while he was ploughing his land near border with Liwaa Iskenderun in north-western Idlib.

 

Yesterday, SOHR reported that a 66 years-old civilian from Khirbat Al-Joz western of Idlib sustained serious injuries, after having been shot by members of the Turkish Border Guards “Jandarma”, while he was ploughing his land near border with Liwaa Iskenderun in north-western Idlib.

 

Accordingly, the number of civilians killed by Turkish border guards (Jandarma) since early 2023 in different areas near the Syria-Turkey border has increased to 11. In addition, 20 civilians, including a child and two women, were injured in gunfire by Turkish Jandarma in the same period. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Areas controlled by “Peace Spring” operations room in Al-Hasakah countryside: Five men.

 

  • Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib countryside: Four men.

 

  • Areas controlled by “Euphrates Shield” operations room in north Aleppo countryside: Two men.
