Coming from Kurdistan Region of Iraq | Regime forces prevent the entry of humanitarian aid convoy from crossing into disaster-stricken areas in Aleppo for sixth consecutive day

SOHR sources have reported that regime forces have prevented the entry of a humanitarian aid convoy sent from Al-Sulaymaniyah area in Kurdistan Region of Iraq to Al-Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods and other areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo for the sixth consecutive day. The convoy, which comprises 25 trucks carrying relief assistance, has stopped at Al-Tayeh crossing, which separates regime-controlled areas from SDF-controlled areas, waiting for an approval by regime authorities to cross into areas affected by the devastating earthquake.

The convoy crossed into Syria on March 6, and it arrived at Al-Tayeh crossing on March 7.

It is worth noting that regime forces have deliberately blackmail officials responsible for humanitarian aid convoys provided to disaster-stricken areas, where they ask the officials to give them shares of the humanitarian assistance in return for allowing them to cross into regime-controlled areas.

On March 11, the Autonomous Administration issued a statement regarding the authorities of the regime preventing the passage of relief materials from Al-Solaimaniya city in Kurdistan-Iraq region towards areas affected in Aleppo through Al-Tayha crossing in Manbij city in Aleppo countryside, separating between SDF-held areas and regime-held areas.
