“Putin-Erdogan” area | Regime soldier killed by “HTS” sniper in Idlib

A regime soldier was killed by an “HTS” sniper on the frontline of Saraqeb in the eastern countryside of Idlib. On a related context, regime forces fired heavy artillery shells on the vicinity of Kabanah north of Latakia within “Putin-Erdogan” area.

 

It is worth noting that the “de-escalation zone” experiences frequent gunfire, infiltration operations and exchange of bombardment between regime forces and opposition factions.

 

Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 51 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 105 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 53 combatants and six civilians, including children, injured.

 

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

 

  • Five civilians were killed by regime forces.

 

  • 72 members of regime forces, including six officers.

 

  • 25 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.

 

  • Two members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawheed.

 

  • One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.
