Thunder and rainstorms | Civilian injured and villages and tents damaged in Idlib

Huge amounts of rain fell today on areas of northern and western of Syria, causing damages to displacement camps and temporary sheltering centres that were established after the catastrophic earthquake that hit Syria.

The weather forecast warned of rain storm, and that it would continue for 48 hours, where residents of the camps are suffering difficult conditions with absence of necessities of life.

A young man was injured after being struck by lightning in Al-Shaikh Youssef village in Sahl Al-Ghab in Sahl Al-Rouj area in Idlib countryside, and he was taken to the hospital to receive proper medication.

Arab Saeed Ma’arat Masren road was cut by the floods and the stones were washed away on the road.

Moreover, tents in Al-Shaikh Bahr camps in Sahl Al-Rouj, Al-Maydan, Al-Imdad camp in Ma’arat Masren countryside and a camp in Salkin.

Ain Shaib, Udwan and Aray villages in Sahl Al-Rouj were also damaged.

Water entered the tents of the displaced people in Khirbat Al-Jouz in Idlib countryside, Zarzor near Darkosh town and a sheltering camp for those displaced by the earthquake at the outskirts of Jisr Al-Shojor city.

Several tents in Salah Al-Dein displacement camp in Jinderes city in northern Aleppo countryside were partly damaged and Nayara sheltering camp for those displaced by the earthquake near A’zaz city was also damaged, due to the rainfall that hit the area yesterday.

Moreover, the heavy rainstorm caused damages to tents sheltering those displaced by the earthquake in Al-Shaikh Hadid town, and caused damages to two camps in Bab Al-Salama area northern of Aleppo, in addition to flooding of roads in Rajo in Afrin and other areas.
