Ongoing rainstorm | Rain water submerses civilians’ houses and agricultural land in villages in western countryside of Al-Raqqah

Al-Raqqah province: Flash floods which followed heavy rainfalls which hit areas in Syria for days in the ongoing low-pressure, caused massive damages to people’s houses and properties in several villages in regime-held areas in the western countryside of Al-Raqqah, where floods and storms hit villages of “Debsi Afnan”, “Debsi Faraj” and “Al-Buaasi” in the western countryside near the eastern countryside of Aleppo, causing the submersion of people’s houses and agricultural land in those villages in water.
The ongoing heavy rainfalls cause floods in several Syrian areas, where rainfall continued felling till early hours this morning in Al-Raqqah and its countryside.
Yesterday, SOHR reported that flash floods, which followed the heavy rainfall which hit the area in the past days, resulted in the increase of the level of the water in “Al-Balikh” river in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah, which resulted in the submersion of thousands of hectares of agricultural land in water.

In the same context, floods caused the collapsing of “Shariaan” and “Al-Jalab” bridges on the road of Tel Abyad in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah, while the roads leading to the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions in the city and its countryside are blocked due to the floods. Also, the floods caused a partial collapse of “Raqqah Al-Samrah” bridge, which is the only bridge that connects Al-Raqqah city with its eastern countryside.
