IS*IS resurgence | Gun*men att*ack checkpoint of “Al-Asayesh” in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Gunmen believed to belong to ISIS attacked a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces “Al-Asayesh” at the outskirts of Al-Jasmy town in northern Deir Ezzor countryside, where the checkpoint was attacked by RPG shells.

Accordingly, armed clashes erupted between ISIS cells and members of “Al-Asayesh” checkpoint, where the gunmen fled to an unknown destination. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

This comes in light of the escalation of activity by ISIS cells in areas in north eastern of Syria.

According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 27 persons dead: five civilians, 21 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration and one unidentified man.
