Armed attack | NDF commander survives assassination attempt on Damascus-Al-Suwaidaa highway

SOHR sources have reported that unknown gunmen opened fire on a the commander of National Defence Forces on Damascus-Al-Suwaidaa highway, as he was heading to Damascus to attend a security meeting. However, no casualties have been reported.

 

This coincides with the escalating security chaos in regime-controlled areas across Syria.

 

On March 19, SOHR sources reported that a military commander in “Saraya Al-Quds” movement, the military wing of the “Islamic Jihad” movement, was assassinated earlier today in Rif Dimashq, where gunmen shot him in Dahiyat Qudsaya area in Rif Dimashq, before fleeing. “Saraya Al-Quds” announced the death of the commander who was called “Ali Ramzi Al-Aswad” and accused Israel for the murder, confirming that the crime holds “prints of Israeli occupation”.
