Old ordnance | Young man inj*ured by expl*osion of land*mine in regime-held areas

Al-Raqqa province: A young man was wounded in his right leg, due to the explosion of a landmine of war remnants in Al-Raqqa desert, where he was taken to Deir Ezzor hospital to receive proper medication within regime-held areas.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 89 civilians, including five women and 25 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, over 158 civilians, including 41 children and four women, sustained various injuries.

The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:

• Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib: Three fatalities; including a child, and five injured civilians, including three children.

• Regime-controlled areas: 81 fatalities, including 19 children and five women, and 133 injured civilians, including 24 children and three women. There are 35 truffle pickers died, including a child and two women, and 89 others injured.

• “Euphrates Shield” area in east Aleppo countryside: One fatality, a child, and eight injured people: a woman and seven children.

• SDF-held areas: Three fatalities; three children, and ten injured civilians, including six children. There is a little truffle picker among the injured people.

• “Peace Spring” area in north Al-Raqqah countryside: A child was killed and another was injured.
