Armed attack | SDF member killed by ISIS cells in northern Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that a member of Syrian Democratic Forces from Al-Sa’wa town in Deir Ezzor countryside was shot dead by gunmen, believed to be of ISIS cells, in Abu Khashab town in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

 

SOHR has documented 40 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 29 persons dead: five civilians, 23 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration and one unidentified man. These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Raqqah: Seven attacks left three combatants dead.

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 28 attacks left five civilians, an unidentified man and 13 combatants dead.

 

  • Aleppo: Two attacks left six combatants, including commanders, dead.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Three attacks left a combatant dead and others injured.
