Second infiltration operation in 24 hours | HTS-backed members sneak into regime positions in southern Idlib, killing and injuring eight

SOHR sources have reported that members of “Abi Obaydah Bin Al-Jarrah” Brigade which operates under the banner of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham executed an infiltration operation earlier this morning on regime positions on the frontline of Al-Dana village near Maarrat Al-Nu’man area in the southern countryside of Idlib. The attack left three fatalities among regime forces, including a captain who was killed in artillery fire which preceded the infiltration operation, as well as the injury of four other soldiers. Also, HTS-backed brigade lost a member during the attack.

 

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that a regime captain was killed this morning in artillery fire by factions of “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” operations room on regime positions on the frontlines of Al-Dana village near Maarrat Al-Nu’man in Idlib countryside in “Putin-Erdugan” area.

 

Yesterday evening, SOHR activists reported that a group of the HTS-backed special forces of “Abdulrahman bin Aouf” carried out an infiltration operation into regime positions on Basartoun frontline in the western countryside of Aleppo. Violent clashes erupted between the two sides, amid reports of casualties among regime forces.

 

Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 68 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 143 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 82 combatants and 22 civilians, including two women and other children, injured.

 

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

 

  • Six civilians were killed by regime forces.

 

  • 97 members of regime forces, including six officers.

 

  • 37 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.

 

  • Two members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawheed.

 

  • One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.
