Escalated IS*IS activity | Over 400 local members of National Defence participate in searching for cells

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists reported that over 400 members of the “National Defence” of “Al-Bo Saraya” tribe set off with military equipment to comb Al-Boshra desert in western Deir Ezzor countryside, and to monitor movements of ISIS cells and the attacks on “truffle” workers in the region.

This comes in light of the attacks by ISIS cells on those searching for truffle and on regime forces, which left dozens of people killed.

SOHR sources reported that the number of members of the National Defence Forces of Al-Bosaraya tribe, who were killed in Deir Ezzor desert, increased to 12, as more seven bodies were found. The 12 men were gone missing when they headed to the desert on March 9 under a security campaign to search for ISIS cells. SOHR sources suggest that the group was eliminated by ISIS.
