Searching for his kidn*apped family | Young man di*es by land*mine expl*osion in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: A young man died due to the explosion of a landmine of war remnants, while he was searching for his family that was kidnapped today by ISIS cells in Sabikhan desert eastern of Deir Ezzor, within regime-held areas.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 118 civilians, including nine women and 30 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, over 170 civilians, including 41 children and four women, sustained various injuries.

The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:

• Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib: Three fatalities; including a child, and five injured civilians, including three children.

• Regime-controlled areas: 107 fatalities, including 22 children and nine women, and 145 injured civilians, including 24 children and three women. There are 55 truffle pickers died, including two children and six women, and 98 others injured.

• “Euphrates Shield” area in east Aleppo countryside: Three fatality: three children, and eight injured people: a woman and seven children.

• SDF-held areas: Four fatalities: Including three children, and 11 injured civilians, including six children. There is a little truffle picker among the injured people.

• “Peace Spring” area in north Al-Raqqah countryside: A child was killed and another was injured.
