Sneak att*ack | Two regime soldiers kil*led by IS*IS cells in Al-Sokhna area in Homs

Homs province: Two regime soldiers were killed by ISIS cells in Al-Sokhna area in eastern Homs countryside.

It is worth noting that one of the victims are from Al-Shahta village and the other is from Naba’a Al-Taib village in Hama countryside.

ISIS started escalating its operations recently, targeting civilians and combatants in the region.

According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2023 has increased to 125; and they are as follows:

• 11 ISIS members were killed in clashes with regime forces and Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor and Aleppo.

• 114 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 24 Iranian-backed Syrian and non-Syrian militiamen, were killed in 63 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.

In addition, 112 civilians, including a woman, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian desert.

Here is a regional distribution of ISIS attacks in 2023:

-Homs desert: 24 operations left 125 fatalities:

• 43 combatants, including 13 Iranian-backed militias.

• 81 civilians, including a woman.

• One ISIS member.

-Al-Raqqah desert: Eight operations left 17 fatalities:

• 13 regime soldiers.

• Three ISIS members.

• One civilian.

-Deir Ezzor desert: 22 operations which left 52 fatalities:

• 46 combatants, including 11 Iranian-backed militias.

• Five ISIS members.

• One civilian.

-Hama desert: Eight operations left 26 civilians, 12 combatants and two ISIS members dead.

-Aleppo desert: One operation left three civilians dead.
