While picking “truffle” | Land*mine explo*sion ki*lls four women in Al-Bushri desert

Today, four women from Al-Buhamad village in west of Deir Ezzor, were killed due to the explosion of an old landmine, while collecting “truffle” in Al-Bushri desert in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.
Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 158 civilians, including 13 women and 33 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2023. In addition, over 187 civilians, including 49 children and four women, sustained various injuries.
The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:
• Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib: Three fatalities; including a child, and five injured civilians, including three children.
• Regime-controlled areas: 145 fatalities, including 24 children and 13 women, and 159 injured civilians, including 29 children and three women. There are 85 truffle pickers died, including two children and Ten women, and 106 others injured.
• “Euphrates Shield” area in east Aleppo countryside: Three fatality, three children, and ten injured people: a woman and nine children.
• SDF-held areas: Six fatalities, including four children, and 12 injured civilians, including seven children. There is a little truffle picker among the injured people.
• “Peace Spring” area in north Al-Raqqah countryside: A child was killed and another was injured.
